Welcome To Zac’s Journey To A 1,000
My name is Zac and I love to read. I want to read more but I get distracted rather easily. So I gave myself a goal to read a thousand books. A pretty hefty goal but I have a life time to complete it. I created A newsletter to recommend books and a website to keep track of my progress. I realized that I probably wouldn’t recommend every book I read on my journey to 1,000. I still wanted to keep track of all the books I was going to read so I decided to also review books I had read but not recommended. So enjoy the books that didn’t make the recommend list

Is This Guy For Real? The unbelievable Andy Kaufman By: Box Brown
This book is a retelling of Andy Kaufman’s life in graphic novel form. I first learned of Andy when watching Man on the moon which I didn’t know was about a real person. In my defense I was probably 13 when I saw it and I was a big fan of Jim Carrey. I was reintroduced to Andy by The Global Fool which had a paragraph or two on him. I then went shopping saw this book and had to have it read it the same day. The book tells a decent story of Andy and his career from beginning to end focusing on the big details. It was entertaining but left me wanting to learn more about this strange man and his wild antics.
What I Liked
I like the cartoony vibe the graphic novel gave the story of Andy. Andy was almost a human cartoon so it seems fitting. the art is good and the story carries alright but like I said the story leaves you wanting to learn more about Andy. Definitely not for everyone but kids might like it if they are a little more mature.

Quick recommendations
1 The war of art by: Steven Pressfield
2 Mastery By: Robert Greene
3 I haven’t read it but Its in my cart. Andy Kaufman: The Truth, Finally by Bob Zmuda
Quote From The Book
“ In may 1984, Andrew Geoffrey Kaufman died of cancer. He was thirty-five years old. Rumors of Andy faking his death began immediately and continue to this day. The rumors are certainly fueled by Bob Zmuda doing the Tony Clifton character himself after Andy died. People didn’t believe it because they’d been had by Andy so many times. or maybe its because he is treasured. Just like Elvis.
